Fees

We accept out-of-pocket payments for neuropsychological and psychological evaluations. Costs vary depending on the referral question and your child’s age. Most evaluations range from $2,500 to $5,600.

For medical insurance, we are only in-network with Capital District Physicians Health Plan (CDPHP). CDPHP typically only covers evaluations that are considered medically necessary, such as those related to brain injury, epilepsy, brain tumors, or other medical conditions that affect learning and behavior. If your child has a qualifying medical condition and you have CDPHP, the evaluation may be fully or partially covered.

If you have a different insurance plan, we are considered out-of-network, and you should be prepared to pay out-of-pocket for the evaluation.

Out-of-Network Insurance Reimbursement

If you do not have CDPHP but would like to seek out-of-network reimbursement, contact your insurance company and ask about coverage for the procedure codes listed below. Coverage depends on the referral question, your child’s medical history, and your specific insurance plan. We cannot guarantee reimbursement.

You would be responsible for paying the full cost of the evaluation up front and then submitting for reimbursement through your insurer.

For Neuropsychological Evaluations

(used when there is a known or suspected neurological condition such as brain injury, epilepsy, stroke, tumor, or cancer treatment)

96132 – Neuropsychological evaluation services, first hour
96133 – Each additional hour
96136 – Testing by psychologist, first 30 min

For Psychological Evaluations

(used when evaluating for ADHD, autism, learning disabilities, or mental health concerns such as anxiety or depression)
